We want your installation day to be as smooth and stress-free as possible. Here's what to expect when a DGtek technician visits your home to get you connected to Pineapple Net.
What Happens on Installation Day?
1. Access to Your Apartment
The installer will need access to all rooms that may have telecommunications equipment or data ports. This is essential to identify the best setup and ensure a successful connection.
2. Location Assessment
The technician will assess your apartment to determine the most suitable location for your router. This is based on proximity to the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) and your building’s existing telecommunications infrastructure.
3. Connection Testing
The installer will test your apartment's wiring and connection points to ensure everything is working as it should and that your apartment is ready to be connected to the DGtek network.
4. Router Setup & Configuration
If you’ve purchased a router from us, the installer will set it up for you and ensure it’s properly configured for your Pineapple Net service. If you’re bringing your own router, they’ll ensure the connection is live and ready for you to plug in your device.
5. Final Testing & Speed Confirmation
Once everything is set up, the installer will run speed tests to confirm your connection is stable and delivering the speeds you’ve signed up for. A confirmation test is also sent to our team to verify everything is running perfectly.
A Few Important Things to Know
👤 Someone Must Be Home
You or someone over 18 must be present during the appointment to allow the technician access and to discuss any preferences or questions about where your router is placed.
💬 Communication is Key
Let the technician know if you have any specific needs or concerns — they’re there to help make sure you’re happy with the setup.
