In many buildings, services like intercom, doorbells and Free-To-Air TV rely on equipment from the previous internet provider, such as their ONT (Optical Network Terminal) or NTD (Network Termination Device). If this equipment is powered off or unplugged, these services may stop working. Simply checking that it is plugged in and powered on should restore functionality.
Rest assured, the DGtek installation team follow procedures to avoid interfering with existing equipment. During installation, they do not disconnect or power off other providers’ devices. Instead, they use additional equipment, such as double adapters, to ensure the service is installed without affecting any other connections.
How to resolve the issue?
If you are experiencing issues with your intercom, doorbell, or Free-to-Air TV, please follow the below easy steps:
1) Check if the previous provider’s equipment (ONT or NTD) is plugged in and powered on.
2) Ensure that all necessary cables are properly connected/reconnected.
If the issue persists, we recommend contacting your building management or the relevant provider for further assistance.
